Witches Abroad by Terry Pratchett. The collection
When I'm a little stressed, I need a good tea, and immerse myself in a book ever loved. This is my way of reassuring me.
So now, I return to delight with Terry Pratchett. Terry Pratchett is one of my favorite authors in recent years, and as a writer is that I share with my dear husband is a little more substantial. Because what's more enjoyable than talking literature with someone else?

Witches Abroad is the twelfth book of the annals of the world drives.
If you are a stranger to those famous annals, I make you a concise presentation. The world is a hard flat world, supported by four elephants, themselves perched on the back of a turtle, the A-Tuin, who runs the immensity without knowing really where it goes. The world record is an array of characters, which are found from time to time, which sometimes come together, meet, clash, but whose adventures can generally be read independently. It usually crosses the Magi, officers of the watch (Ank Morpok Police, the principal town of the book is a character by itself), vampires, werewolves, witches, guilds of thieves, beggars, murderers, gods sometimes ... What a program!
So here we follow the adventures of my favorite small, witches (their second adventure, although one of them already appeared in solo adventures). Ah, do not expect sexy witches. Esmeralda Weatherwax, aka Granny Weatherwax is the chieftain of this unusual trio. She has a steely gaze, and is adept at tétologie. (Basically it will return the brain in no time and would eat a steak at a vegetarian.) Nanny Ogg is a witch married, which is extremely rare, and directs an iron fist a household full of beautiful girls who can be exploited at will (she also likes to make allusions bold). And the last Magrat Garlick, a little eccentric, clueless as a young witch, a follower of unnecessary accessories and seeks its place in the shadow of these two old with a fiery temperament.
In this novel, Magrat comes to inherit a good fairy wand, and is assigned the task to help her "protected" at the other end of the world, somewhere in a town called Genua. And as it inherits the witch was cunning, it made it clear she did not want Grandma and Nanny get involved. Inevitably, the two old entering the dance. And they're off, riding brooms, ready to conquer the world!
the program, a parody of fairy tales, with a wand that turns everything into a pumpkin, we came across the wicked wolf and Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella (braisillon!), A prince who is transformed a toad in humans and has kept a few things of his former appearance, a voodoo witch who reads the future in the gumbo, references everywhere (airplanes, "Sorci-air service" to Tolkien, with a small passage in homage to Gollum, or a zombie called Saturday and was Baron ...), a clash between two opposite, magic, desperate situations ...
is fiercely funny, the characters are great as they are stubborn, full of faults and devilishly charming.
I think I could give you a list of three kilometers on why he should read this novel, but I'll stop there!
What I like about Pratchett, in general, there is at times little things that only the happy fews can understand. Small details that make you tilt, call your general knowledge or bookish, and make you feel gifted to have found the reference! (It is always nice not to feel grown?)

When a woman attacking a man with his animus. From unus mundus
The lack of authenticity is what a man experiences when he is attacked by the animus of a woman. He feels she is not herself, she is not genuine. This creates a difficult problem that a man can not generally face.
(..)
A man might try talking to him reasonably, but in general he gets angry, it is invaded by his anima and no longer able to speak to him at all. She then rejected him on all his misfortunes in a childlike voice, plaintive and full of reproaches, and he, with his side feeling poorly developed, he feels uncomfortable and angry, do not answer, slamming the door, or take the newspaper or turn on the TV and sulk. It becomes more and more furious. The animus and the anima to dot the other in a typical scene.

by which to meet ...
Yesterday morning, almost insignificant way, someone older and wiser told me about the couple:
"We won in our essence, but we meet in our wound."
phrases as well, in my head, you sow a seed in the morning, you got a pot plant at 10:15 and Amazon jungle after dinner.
We won in our gasoline.
the early moments of a relationship, we would have access to the inner nature of someone? Thinking back to the qualities which, from the beginning, charmed me from the important women in my life, I confirmed with a smile. These charming features do not fade with time. At worst, we lose sight to find them intact when everyone walks away with his luggage.
These charming features do not fade with time, and it leaves me much to hope for someone who I want to say, basically, I love your essence. (I'll still bother to tell him otherwise ...)
We won in our gasoline? Does this mean that it appeals to only one way and that everyone always sees us the same way and as we really is? What, me, my essence? Food for thoughts ...
I am inclined to believe that we all facets of the dominant and secondary, each event can make us shine slightly differently. It is diamonds. It is Christmas trees.
We meet in our wound.
We won until we meet. And we meet in our wound. For the first clashes , which is only irritated skin or defaces it deep into the flesh, it is then actually in the presence of someone with flaws and sensitive areas. In other words, we begin by playing doctor to get to finally realize that truly touches the sore on the other.
What, me, my wound? What is the injury of another? Is that over the meetings, over different species, I always find the same injury? Food for thoughts ...
Our wounds often marry as well as our lights fit together. Sadly at first sight because it prompts us to stagnate. The hole of discomfort that is often known easier to select the slope that can grow thick.
Paradoxically, our wounds marry well, but they reveal themselves to each other in at least giving us the choice to take the slope thick out of the hole, even having a travel companion.
Watching all this, I tell myself that I have advanced a little, but not many. I look forward to the trip ...
And by the time we meet really, I continue to focus on the essence:)
